SPEEDFOAM AIR

The new SpeedFoam Air is 69% lighter than the previous model. 3.5g of the weight saved has been redistributed to optimise the mass properties for better launching conditions. The new form has a smooth sound and a feeling of stability all while providing a fast and flexible face.

The thin-walled, forged L-face construction

An 8620 carbon steel construction makes the head thinner in strategic places, allowing the CG to be set at an incredibly low level. Forged 1.65 mm 4110 steel L-Face is used to promote flexibility, ball speed and distance while maintaining a quality forged feel.

Thru-Slot Speed Pocket

The Thru-Slot Speed Pocket increases the flexibility of the face all while maintaining the ball speed and distance when shots are taken low on the face

Intelligent Sweet Spot

The sweet spot size has been increased by 60% in comparison with the original P790. Through data analysis, TaylorMade repositioned the sweet spot lower on the face, to naturally capture more shots and deliver performance where golfers need it most.

Tungsten mass for low CG

The engineers designed new construction methods to slim down the shaft, placing up to 31 grams of tungsten at the tip. This creates a huge amount of stability and forgiveness with a look that will appeal to good players.
